“Much takes time, the paper choice, the subject matter, the process of layering, I trained as a printmaker and found it is very similar to collage. Over the past thirty-five years I have taught mostly part time at many art colleges and universities throughout the UK, in France and most recently in the USA. I have worked as a freelance illustrator and sold work at exhibitions and to private collections throughout the world.  I think my major love is paper and I am at my happiest with a very sharp pair of scissors and a glue pot, cutting and pasting and drawing with scissors” Jacqui Mair 2020

Collage workshops with Jacqui Mair

Following the success of Jacqui Mair’s workshops here in the gallery in Autumn 2018 I am pleased to say that despite obvious difficulties that operating during a pandemic are throwing our way we have decided to forge ahead and announce 2 weekend workshops. Current restrictions mean we have to comply with the RULE OF 6 for all our activities as well as maintain social distancing & therefore there will be fewer places available but they will take place over 2 days for a more intensive, more rewarding & productive course. The quality of work produced last time with the one day courses was astounding and we are looking forward to seeing what can be done with more time to develop ideas and explore techniques.

COURSE DATES:
Saturday 7th & 8th November 10-4.30pm
Saturday 14th & Sunday 15th November 10-4.30pm

Each 2 day course costs £160 with materials included (barring a few items in order to preclude sharing)and participants will be given a simple neutral coloured box frame into which artwork will be mounted to show in the gallery and to take home. Tea & coffee and light refreshments will be provided and parking vouchers can also be obtained at a small cover charge.

If you would like to sign up for one of the 2 courses please contact the gallery at info@jackhousegallery.co.uk. state clearly the course you wish to join and if you would accept the other course as your second choice if your first choice is fully booked. Please also leave a contact number and await the the full details and confirmation that we can give you a place. We will want firm commitment for the 2 days as we anticipate demand and can only take 5 individuals for each course.
