PRINTS for PRESENTS the Winter Print Show
Private View Thursday 16th November 6-8pm
17th November to 31st December 2017

'PRINTS for PRESENTS' what a great idea it is to give a quality, lasting, beautifully made fine art print for Christmas this year made by a member of one of the best, and certainly oldest, print organisations out there - the Greenwich Printmaker's Association. Fine art printmaking is a wonderful and affordable route into collecting art whether it's a limited edition etching, linoprint, lithograph or screenprint.  We are delighted that Greenwich Printmakers Association are back in town after their hugely successful first show here at the gallery just a few months after the gallery opened in 2015. 16 of their number exhibited over 100 very collectable, astonishingly affordable top hole fine art prints and this year 21 will participate. In the run up to Christmas 2017 we will have for you a huge array of printmaking skill on show in a range of media and a variety of styles, genres and sizes. To see who'll be taking part in this Winter Print Show look here.

EVENT
3 Greenwich Printmakers on Print
Thursday 7th December 6.30-8.30pm

Due to the great response we had to the talk that GPA artist Kit Boyd gave here in 2015 we are privileged to host an evening in which 3 members of the association have kindly agreed to come along and talk about their work and how they make it. Sally McKay works directly from observing dancers in movement producing deceptively simple and dynamic etchings. Bethany Marett works in various media and techniques sometimes using totally unlikely substances for her 'ink' and Christina France is the newest member of the association and makes dreamy abstract textured, layered pieces in quiet contrast to the work of Bethany and Sally. Each is working in different ways and with different stories to tell about their artistic lives. This event is free, there will be refreshments but only limited seating for those that need it.
