Bill Crow, born 1938 in Norbury, SW16, art lecturer and cultural historian, is a life-long supporter of Crystal Palace FC and author of Portrait of a Portrait by William Orpen. He describes himself as an unreconstructed member of the clerking classes, having previously worked as an advertising agency copywriter and a management consultant. His art heroes are Inigo Jones, Goya, Rembrandt, Hogarth , the Nottingham carvers of Medieval alabasters, and, of course, Sam Rabin. He lives near Orford in Suffolk with his second wife Deborah and a springer spaniel called Sadie.
