Darktown Debris

Jonny Hannah
1st to 31st March 2021
EXTENDED to Saturday 3rd April!

“Roll up! Come see the Darktown Debris. There'll be a miscellany of books & other junk from Emmett Miller's Unquiet Grave Emporium, & a selection of records & top tunes from Brel's Record Bar. All mixed in with a life-size Walt Whitman & badges, posters, painted plates, prints, & miscellaneous fragments from Jonny Hannah's imaginary hinterlands town. Ouvrez les Fenetres de Votre Coeur!”

The Gallery window has become that of a rather marvellous emporium of delights and is literally filled to the ceiling with items, objects and images that have been recycled, up-cycled & re-purposed by Jonny Hannah including this old radio that has become a tribute to a recently departed hero the poet Ferlinghetti. Jonny Hannah uses the everyday ordinary as his canvas and makes everything indelibly his own. Throughout the period of his Art Through Glass show Jonny will be telling you about his influences, passions and inspirations posting on the Jack House Gallery instagram account and Facebook pages so get online. Jonny Hannah is an illustrator, busker, filmmaker, painter, teacher, printmaker who resists defining himself by any of those titles. To read more about him click here. If you are going to take a walk come by the Gallery window be sure to download a guide to the many pieces of Darktown Debris on display which will be available in the Gallery online shop.
