ART ADVENT 2022
How to submit artworks
There was huge interest in taking part in the original Art Advent 2020 window but only 25 Advent Calendar places so this year to include a wider range of local artists AND increase exhibiting potential we will be holding an exhibition both in the window and in the gallery with an initial submission process.
As before the work of 25 artists will be selected, this time by a small panel, to go into the Advent Calendar window to be revealed daily but for those that don’t make it into the window there will be a further selection for a show inside the Gallery with an opening Christmas preview party on the 1st December. Works that go on show inside the gallery will be available to view & sell from the 1st December 2022. Works that go into the Advent Calendar will be made available to view and sell by a link ahead of the daily reveal by arrangement.
The Art Advent Calendar window 2020
Artworks will go on sale up to a ceiling price which will be broadly in line with the Artist Support Pledge pricing but we are slightly reducing the Gallery commission taken to 30%. The format for the submitted work will be uniform and the frame is provided by the gallery. 2020’s theme was the colour RED. This year our theme is NIGHT and can be interpreted as you wish. As Christmassy or otherwise as you like!

How to Submit for the Exhibition:
Exhibition date: 1st December 2022– 15th January 2023 Preview opening Thursday 1st December 6-8pm
Submission deadline: by end MONDAY 21ST November 2022
Theme: ‘NIGHT’ interpreted any way you like
Size to fit: Artwork & any mount must fit inside 24 x 24 x 4.5cm frame provided by gallery. Artist to provide mount if it is required.
PRICE Must be £100 or more but no more than £250 RETAIL including 30% gallery commission
Medium: Any medium (including photography) which will fit within the provided frame with or without glazing.
Image(s) must be sent by email: info@jackhousegallery.co.uk Artists may submit more than one artwork WITH:
1. Title, description of medium
2. Statement/bio about the artist/work – either a short paragraph or a long sentence. Please do not merely add a website link.
You will be informed if your work has been selected for exhibition by end of the week of the 21st November. Delivery of SELECTED artworks 28th & 29th November
IMPORTANT – It’s always tempting to get on social media ahead but all images submitted need to be kept secret in keeping with the spirit of the Advent Calendar reveal. Don’t ruin it! A list of all the participating artists will be put online in alphabetical ahead of the exhibition.
